We present to you, 48 children on the threshold of adulthood, sharing their ideas and experiences, as well as their visions and hopes for their future world. Between these lines appears a diverse mosaic that might give an idea of what it is to be human.
Likenesses or differences seems to be such an important reason for why the world is the way it is. So when we had the opportunity to gather 48 eleven year olds from all around the world we simply had to ask them one question: "How alike am I to you?"
"How Alike Am I To You?" was the name of the CISV camp that brought us all together. It was the small ecosystem where the idea to make something bigger out of this was born. Now it has also become a digital storytelling project and eventually a book.
The children went through a writing process to discover and develop stories that are important for them. Jimmy Svanberg of jblomquistphotography volunteered his time and talent to take the photos that accompany their stories. Every week a new story is published here and in our social media channels. -Never before in history has it been this easy to explore the world and be exposed to other cultures, perspectives, and ways of life. Still, it seems that we keep ourselves from taking this road.
